I got into hoofcare the way many do; I wasn’t happy with what I could get for my own horse, and decided to learn the trade myself, from mentors, study, and the PHCP program. I found that the work combined my love of biology, anatomy, and problem solving with the sculptural skills I acquired from years of work in the fine art bronze industry. From there, I started trimming horses at the rescue where I work, which gave me experience in improving a wide variety of hoof pathology and neglect. I focus on building a robust, resilient hoof through trimming for internal health and a correct biomechanic relationship between every part of the hoof.
